Happy 2015! Love starting the year with a bit of cooking inspiration. Melbourne based food blogger of Foodie's Digest and studying dietitian and nutritionist, Sarah van Ewijk is an absolute whiz in the kitchen. Constantly pushing her limits with new food experiences that fit with in weight management and well being, has led her to these two meal creations. We think deserve to be showcased, along with her own thoughts on the dishes.
Firstly, green rice sushi rolls! "Green rice gets a big thumbs up for texture and flavor for my sushi rolls! I whack mine in the rice cooker on the brown rice setting and it's perfectly cooked every time. Next I shall try the red rice!"
Then Japanese Onigiri using red rice. "Delicious rice balls using a mixture of Forbidden Foods red rice, pork mince, shiitake mushrooms, ginger, mirin, soy, chili and a dash of molasses. Topped with sesame seeds, baby daikon kimchi and shreds of nori. Served with miso soup."
